ExperienceI started working as a tutor while still an undergraduate at the University of California, from where I earned my B.A. in Ethnic Studies in 2005. A mentor and tutor for people in underserved neighborhoods in San Diego, I worked alongside students in grades one to twelve and adults who were preparing for their GED. I was a high school English teacher after graduating, working in France with high school level students for a year. My preferred tutoring subjects include French and social sciences but I sometimes help in math, reading, writing, grammar, phonics, and essay editing. I'm also proficient in history and government.I truly enjoy the tutoring process. By developing a rapport with students, I can foster their academic growth and success and feel a sense of accomplishment by doing so. Any goal can be achieved if someone demonstrates enough effort and dedication. In 2010, I received a Juris Doctorate, from Howard University School of Law and have been licensed to practice in California since 2011. I now live in South San Francisco, California. Outside of practicing law, teaching, and tutoring, I indulge in running, reading, and bocce ball. Traveling is another interest of mine as are trivia games and opera.
