Private tutor in South San Francisco, CA

Education

Stanford University class of 2002 Major: Human Biology GPA: 3.74 Three years at UCLA School of Medicine

Experience

I currently teach AP Biology classes as well as general high school biology at a private tutoring company. I also have many hours of experience tutoring SAT Biology E/M Subject Test for the company. As a tutor, I have learned how to keep students engaged in the material and how to adapt my teaching style to fit different age groups. I have also learned that it is very important to be patient, flexible, enthusiastic, and encouraging. I also teach ESL, and am a TESOL certified teacher. I spent six years in Taiwan tutoring various subjects to middle and high school students. The subjects I tutored included English, algebra, and SAT I. I also counseled students attending international high schools on the U.S. college application process. Thus, I am experienced in helping students focus on getting into college. I am also fluent in Mandarin and have experience teaching bilingual students. References are available upon request.
